When was the Waterbury Inn built?
The Waterbury Inn was built in 1986. The Waterbury Inn association opened their doors in 1987. There are 46 rentable suites. The Waterbury Inn is built into a hill and has three levels on one wing and two on the other. All suites are in one building. Our building does not have an elevator.
Are the suites individual owned?
Yes, each suite is individually owned. The Waterbury Inn is run by a Board of Directors which then hire management to guide day to day operations of the resort.
I see you have some suites for sale. Can you give me information on that?
Some of our owners do have their suites up for sale and they are listed with a licensed Real Estate agent. On this site, please go to the “Condos For Sale” link to learn more. Questions should be directed to local Real Estate agents. The Real Estate agents can provide a current list of suites for sale. The Waterbury Inn staff cannot assist you or answer any questions regarding a unit that is for sale. If you would like to view units that are for sale or have questions, please call a local Door County Realtor. The Waterbury Inn staff however can assist you in making a reservation.
Do you have free parking? I want to bring my boat/trailer. Do you have parking for these items?
Yes, we have free parking available for our guests. We have a large parking lot which can accommodate a boat/trailer. We ask that you park these items along the back side of our parking lot and then detach them from your vehicle to avoid blocking other guests or delivery vehicles.
Do we need to bring our own linens?
The resort provides all your linens during your stay. We do require that none of our linens leave our property. If you want to go to the beach, to the local drive-in movie or enjoy any of the wonderful activities Door County has to offer, we ask that you please bring your own beach towels or blankets for those uses.
Do you have continental breakfast?
The Waterbury Inn does not have a public kitchen to provide a continental breakfast. Each unit does have its own fully equipped kitchen for your use, including teapots and 12-cup coffee makers. We provide one free bag of regular and decaf each day at your request.
We brought our bikes with us. Where can we store them?
The Waterbury Inn provides uncovered bike racks for your use. Please bring your own lock and bike cover if you do not want to keep them locked on your vehicle. No bicycles are allowed inside the building.
Is there public transportation?
Northern Door County does not have public transportation. The closest cab service is in Sturgeon Bay. There is a shuttle service that goes from Northern Door County to the Green Bay Airport. (Must reserve in advance). During the busiest times of the season there may be Uber or Lyft available, but those services are rare in Northern Door County.
What type of grills do you have?
We have gas grills on site for your use during your stay. It is on a first come first serve basis. We have a total of three (3) throughout the property. All the grilling areas have picnic tables for use as well. We ask that you be courteous of the next guest who may want to use the grill after you so please clean when you are finished.
Can we reserve the fire pit, pool areas, grills main lobby?
All amenity areas are first-come, first-served. We cannot reserve those areas at this time.
Do you have rooms with two private bedrooms and two bathrooms?
Our two bed units only come with a semi-private loft as the second sleeping area. This sleeping area is open and overlooks the living area. All units contain one (1) bathroom.

What time is check in & check out? Can we check in early? Can we check out late?
Check in time is at 3:00pm. Check out time is at 11:00 am.
June – October is our busiest season. Because of heavy turnover volume it is difficult to accommodate early check ins or late check outs. We will do our best to accommodate your requests but cannot make guarantees.
Can I bring our family pet with us?
Unfortunately, our property cannot accommodate your pet.
What are some activities close to your resort?
The Waterbury Inn is centrally located in Door County. We are only 10 minutes away from state parks, water activities, shopping, dining, and the arts. Please check out our Area Attractions page. You can also visit doorcounty.com and plan your to-do list from this site.
Do you have a restaurant on site?
We do not have a restaurant on site. There are a wonderful variety of restaurants just minutes away from our front doors. Don’t forget to ask our front desk staff, they would be happy to give you some recommendations.
How far away is your resort from Peninsula State Park?
We are just 4 miles from the north entrance of Peninsula State Park.
Do you have a vending machine & ice machine?
We have a snack machine (stocked during summer) & soda machine upstairs (stocked year round) on our second floor. Right next to the soda machine is an ice machine. We also provide ice cube trays for you to make ice in your suite.
