Spring & Summer Festivals

Door County Half Marathon & Nicolet Bay 5K – Peninsula State Park
Date:TBD 2026 Location: Peninsula State Park, Fish Creek, WI Experience one of the Midwest’s most scenic races on a closed, USATF-certified course through Peninsula State Park. The event includes a half marathon and a 5K, both offering breathtaking views of Lake Michigan and the park’s natural beauty. Participants enjoy chip timing, finisher medals, and a post-race celebration.

Date: Saturday, June 21, 2025 Location: About Thyme Farm, Baileys Harbor Description: Savor unlimited tastings from ten local wineries of the Door County Wine Trail, complemented by live music and local cuisine in a picturesque setting.
Date: Saturday, June 21, 2025 Location: Ephraim Village Hall, 9996 Water Street, Ephraim, WI Celebrate the summer solstice with Ephraim’s Scandinavian-inspired Fyr Bal Festival. This family-friendly event features live music, artisan vendors, traditional dancers, and local cuisine. As the sun sets, a ceremonial bonfire is lit to “burn winter away,” followed by a spectacular fireworks display over Eagle Harbor.
Dates: Thursday, July 3 – Friday, July 4, 2025 Location: Harbor View Park, Egg Harbor Description: Celebrate Independence Day with live music, food vendors, a vibrant parade, and a spectacular fireworks display over the harbor.
Dates: Wednesday, August 13 – Sunday, August 17, 2025 Location: John Miles County Park, Sturgeon Bay Description: Experience classic fair attractions including carnival rides, live entertainment, agricultural exhibits, and a variety of food vendors.
Date: Saturday, September 13, 2025 Location: Waterfront Park, Sister Bay, WI Join cyclists of all levels for the Peninsula Century Fall Challenge, offering routes of 25, 50, 62, and 100 miles through Northern Door County’s picturesque landscapes. The ride features fully stocked aid stations, course support, and concludes with a post-ride meal, beer, and live music at Sister Bay’s Waterfront Park.

Harvest Fest & Street Art Auction

Dates: Friday, October 17 – Sunday, October 19, 2025 Location: Downtown Sister Bay Description: Join the community for a weekend of arts and crafts, live music, a parade, and the traditional fish boil, celebrating the autumn season.

Fish Creek Winterfest

Dates: Saturday, November 16, 2024 – Thursday, January 2, 2025 Location: Door County Maritime Museum, Sturgeon Bay Description: Marvel at beautifully decorated trees and wreaths, participate in raffles, and enjoy the holiday spirit throughout the museum.
Dates: Three weekends: November 28–30, December 5–7, December 12–14, 2025 Location: Corner of the Past/Old Anderson House Museum, Sister Bay Description: Experience a traditional European-style Christmas market featuring Nordic foods, artisan goods, holiday music, and festive cheer.
Date: January 1st, 2026 Location: Jacksonport, WI Held annually on New Year’s Day, the Jacksonport Polar Bear Plunge invites brave participants to dash into the icy waters of Lake Michigan at Lakeside Park. What began in 1986 with a single swimmer has grown into a beloved Door County tradition, drawing hundreds of plungers and spectators each year. Costumes, cheers, and the thrill of the chill make this event a bold and unforgettable way to start the year.
